This is what I wrote on the coach back to London: 19/12/2006 Suddenly wanna do sth for myself I want to record sth meaningful everyday, so that I can appreciate how rich my life is. Thou I am wondering whether I can reli make it. Sometimes we just give too much excuses of not doing it. The outcome I am dreaming makes me feel I am a person who can find sth in my life and thus I’m growing everyday. Anyway, this’s what I am going to do for myself for next year, not easy for me but I’ll try my best. Sth makes me mad recently: Internships: just wondering whether I should pay so much time on researching and applications coz it seems I have such a little chance to get one. I’m not looking down on myself but sometimes we got to face the reality. There’s such a big difference on demand and supply of it. But I know ppl who reli fight for it and get it in the end. The point is whether I have the toleration to keep doing it and willing to sacrifice my time to do sth else. So it’s a choice. Prague trip (12/12 – 19/12) Bad start (missed my flight and has to pay 60 pounds for the make up ticket). I know my mum is going to mummer me on that and it’s another proof for my bad time-management… Anyway, it’s quite a nice trip: enjoy the city and meet a number of ppl. Special thx to Tracy for giving me such a special experience, bringing me around the city, telling me a lot abt the city, let me meet her friends (Laura, Amelie, Agi and Peter (Agi’s b friend) who gave me such a warm welcome! After the one-week stay at Prague, I observed sth: thou ppl there look the same for me as other Europeans, there’s sth different. They are cool, usu they don’t smile, seems everyone is so independent and keep themselves away from others. But at the same time, they have good manners. Most of the time I saw them give their seats to elderly on trams. Maybe they are humble, doing something good but not saying it out, a similar value of life as Chinese people. There is a big and traditional Christmas market, a bit different from the one in Birmingham. The atmosphere is like the Chinese New year market, people gather with family, having nice food and doing shopping for the most remarkable time of the year! Looking forward to Paris trip! |
